Units of Sound: Literacy that Fits is a stand–alone, family–user programme which has all the features of the popular Units of Sound used to teach reading and spelling in schools and colleges.

The student programme contains Reading, Spelling, Memory and Dictation with the same highly structured content as the multi-user version.

Now everyone can learn at their own speed at a time that suits them. The programme can be easily set up for those who would like to boost their literacy skills whether they are at a three-letter word level or can tackle more complex structures.

The Spelling and Dictation programmes are particularly popular and range from simple three letter words to those challenging enough for undergraduates.

Units of Sound: Literacy that Fits is ideal for brushing up the skills of students studying with Units of Sound in school or college and supported by a trained specialist but equally effective for those studying independently. It is suitable for all the family as up to three students' names may be entered and records kept.

The package contains a CD ROM to install the programme on a computer, a user guide and a reading book. The easy to follow user guide explains how to:

•  load the programme

•  find the skill level for reading and spelling

•  access the many help files

The Reading Book contains 34 separate passages, to be read at designated intervals throughout the Reading programme. There is also guidance on how the passages can be used to optimise progress in reading.

The CD supports 3 users on the same computer.
