Helen Moss’ Dictation Sentences, with amendments, form the basis of the independent work of the Units of Sound Dictation programme. Each ‘set’ consists of 5 sentences which can be viewed first as for spelling. With the first click on the sound icon the words disappear and you hear the sentence read at a normal speed. A second click produces the first half of the sentence again at a slower speed. The student types that in and then clicks again to hear the second half of the sentence at a slower speed. A student must get at least 4 correct for the programme to move on.
